nI’ve dreamt of a career in cybersecurity for as long as I can remember. Thenjourney began with a simple fascination with technology and the internet,nevolving into a passion for protecting digital spaces. However, the path wasnnot always clear, and the obstacles often seemed insurmountable.n

nMy first significant step was earning the ISC2 Certified in Cybersecurityn(CC) certification. This foundational credential is more than just a piecenof paper; it’s a validation of my skills and knowledge, a stepping stoneninto the broader world of cybersecurity. It wasn’t easy. I spent countlessnnights studying, balancing my learning with work, and often battling thencreeping doubts and anxiety that come with venturing into the cybersecuritynfield.n

nDespite these challenges, CC opened doors for me. It provided a solid basento pursue more advanced certifications and specializations. With thisncertification under my belt, I felt empowered to tackle more complexnsubjects and advanced courses. I enrolled in programs that delved deeperninto network security, information systems, and ethical hacking.n

nThe journey was far from smooth. I faced hardships both personal andnprofessional: balancing work, studies, and having a personal life was anconstant struggle. But the support of my mentors and my reliable network wasninvaluable, providing guidance, knowledge, emotional support andnencouragement. Their belief in my potential and strengths has been annimportant factor in my progress.n

nA significant milestone in my journey was the Women in Cyber Securityn(WiCyS) Security Training Scholarship. This multi-stage opportunity was alsona game-changer, providing me with access to advanced courses, classes, andncertifications. During this period, I experienced profound growth. Thenstructured program, combined with the support of a cohort of peers andnmentors, helped me stay focused and motivated. We supported each othernthrough the various stages, sharing our struggles and successes. The sensenof community was powerful and uplifting.n

nDespite all the support and opportunities, I still experience moments ofndoubt like everyone else – but reminding myself of my goals and visualizingnthe path towards them helps. I remember that I dreamed of reaching where Inam now. My journey in cybersecurity is ongoing, filled with continuousnlearning and growth. Every certification I earn, every course I complete, isna step forward in my quest to become a cybersecurity professional.n

nI’m now being recognized for my efforts, and that recognition is incrediblynrewarding. The path may be challenging, but I am committed to seeing itnthrough, empowered by the knowledge and skills I have acquired and thenunwavering support of my mentors and community.n
