nISC2 is proud to be a part of several Office of the National Cyber Directorn(ONCD) initiatives and we anticipate continuing to work with ONCD to findninnovative solutions to the challenges facing the sector.n

nThere is a lot of work that remains to be done to address the growingncybersecurity workforce and skills gaps. ISC2 looks forward to working withnHarry Coker, the newly appointed Director of ONCD, on a number of keynissues.n

nHarmonization of reporting requirements is one area ISC2 is keen to address.nThere are currently almost 50 different cyber incident reportingnrequirements in place for the federal government in the United States alone.nThis creates unnecessary burdens on organizations and cybersecurity teamsnwhen faced with a cyber incident.n

nEmphasizing the importance of cybersecurity certifications in addressing thencybersecurity workforce gap. Skills-based hiring is on the rise, andnleveraging certificationsnnarennis proven to provide practical knowledge tailored to align with the needs ofnthe sector.n

nCreating new pathways into the sector and providing opportunities forncurrent practitioners to further their professional development. Encouragingna diverse workforce is essential for closing the workforce and skills gapsnand developing effective solutions to evolving challenges.n
